# Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams is the collaboration hub within Microsoft 365, used by organizations for messaging, meetings, and file sharing. Connecting it to Duvo enables two things: your Agents can read and send Teams messages, manage channels, and schedule meetings — and you can trigger Agents directly from Teams by mentioning @Duvo in any channel or chat.

## Setup

Microsoft Teams has a four-step setup: installing the Duvo app in your organization's Teams catalog, approving it in the Teams Admin Center, linking your personal Teams account, then adding the Duvo app to your own Teams so Duvo can message you directly.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Install the Duvo app for your organization" icon="download">
    This step adds the Duvo bot to your organization's Teams app catalog. A Duvo team admin starts the process.

    1. Go to the [Connections page](https://app.duvo.ai/integrations) and open **Microsoft Teams**.
    2. Click **Add to Teams** under the Organization section.
    3. Sign in with your Microsoft work account when prompted.
    4. If your Microsoft organization allows it, the Duvo app is submitted to your Teams catalog automatically.

    <Note>
      **If your organization requires admin approval:** Some organizations restrict which apps can be added. If you see a "Need admin approval" screen from Microsoft:

      * Click **Request access** on the Microsoft screen.
      * Your Microsoft admin will receive the request and can approve it in the Azure portal.
      * Once approved, come back and click **Add to Teams** again.
    </Note>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Approve the app in the Teams Admin Center" icon="circle-check">
    After Step 1, the Duvo app may need approval from a Teams administrator before it becomes available.

    * The Duvo connection page shows **Pending admin approval** while waiting.
    * A Teams administrator approves the app in the **Teams Admin Center** under **Manage apps**.
    * Once approved, the status updates to **Connected** automatically the next time anyone visits the connection page.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Link your personal Teams account" icon="user">
    After the organization app is approved, each user links their own Teams account to enable Duvo to act on their behalf.

    1. On the Teams connection detail page, click **Enable** under the Your Account section.
    2. Sign in with your Microsoft work account and grant the requested permissions.
    3. Your account status changes to **Connected** with your email shown.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add the Duvo app to your own Teams" icon="message-circle">
    Linking your account in Step 3 tells Duvo who you are in Teams. It does not give Duvo anywhere to reach you. Messages from Duvo arrive in a one-to-one chat with the Duvo app, and that chat only exists once you add the app for yourself.

    1. Open Microsoft Teams and click **Apps** in the left sidebar.
    2. Search for **Duvo** and open the app.
    3. Click **Add** to add it for yourself. Teams opens a chat with Duvo.
    4. Send the chat any message — "hello" is enough — to confirm it is open.

    **Duvo** now appears in your Teams chat list, and Duvo can message you there.

    <Warning>
      This is the step people miss. A linked account with no Duvo chat looks connected from the Duvo side, but there is no conversation to deliver into, so nothing arrives.
    </Warning>

    <Note>
      The Duvo app only appears in your Teams app list after a Teams administrator has approved it (Steps 1 and 2). If you cannot find it, ask your administrator to check **Manage apps** in the Teams Admin Center.
    </Note>
  </Step>
</Steps>

### Enabling the Teams trigger for an Agent

Once the organization app is approved and your account is linked, you can enable the Teams trigger on individual Agents:

1. Open the Agent you want to trigger from Teams.
2. Go to the **Schedule** tab and open the **Microsoft Teams** trigger settings.
3. Toggle **Enable Teams trigger** on and save.

Now you can mention **@Duvo** in any Teams channel or chat to start that Agent.

## Managing channel and group-chat triggers

Each Teams channel trigger and group-chat trigger row in the agent's Microsoft Teams trigger settings modal has an on/off switch. The switch takes effect as soon as you flip it. The channel or chat, keyword rule, and Connection stay in place either way.

* **Pause a trigger without deleting it**: Turn the switch **off**. Duvo stops starting Runs from that channel or chat. Turn it back on later to resume without reconfiguring anything.
* **Auto-paused triggers**: When a trigger keeps failing because a Connection the agent needs is missing or its access was revoked, Duvo pauses it automatically. Duvo pauses the trigger after 20 consecutive failures, or after 5 consecutive failures spread over at least 5 days. The row then shows an **Auto-paused** badge and the switch is off. Hover the badge to see why.

To resume an auto-paused trigger:

<Steps>
  <Step title="Restore the Connection" icon="plug">
    Open the [Connections page](https://app.duvo.ai/integrations) and reconnect the accounts the agent needs.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Turn the switch back on" icon="toggle-right">
    In the agent's Microsoft Teams trigger settings modal, turn the trigger's switch **on**. The **Auto-paused** badge clears, and Duvo starts the agent again on the next matching message.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  Turning the switch on clears the auto-pause even if the Connection is still missing. If you resume before reconnecting, the trigger keeps failing and Duvo pauses it again.
</Note>

## Capabilities

* **Channel messaging** — Send messages, replies, and notifications to specific Teams channels as Duvo. Read message history from channels.
* **Chat conversations** — Read and send messages in individual and group chats as Duvo. Create new chats and manage chat membership.
* **Message management** — Edit, delete, pin, and react to messages. Mark messages as important. Search messages across chats and channels.
* **Channel management** — Create and delete channels, view channel details, and manage channel membership.
* **Meetings** — Schedule, update, cancel, and list online meetings with attendees.
* **File operations** — Upload, list, and delete files in Teams channel file folders.
* **Team discovery** — Browse joined teams and channels, search users by name or email, and look up team rosters.
* **@Duvo trigger** — Start any enabled Agent by mentioning @Duvo in a Teams channel or chat. Duvo responds in the conversation with results.

## How Messages Appear

When an Agent sends a message in Teams, the message comes from **Duvo** (the bot account), not from the personal account you used to connect. This keeps automated messages visually distinct from messages sent by individual team members.

Read operations (browsing message history, searching, looking up team members) continue to use your connected account.

## Key Benefits

* **Start work from where your team already works** — Mention @Duvo in Teams to trigger Agents without switching to the Duvo app.
* **Automated team updates** — Agents post results, alerts, and status reports directly to the channels where your team collaborates.
* **Two-way communication** — Read incoming messages and respond in context, enabling interactive workflows.
* **Meeting coordination** — Schedule and manage online meetings as part of automated processes.
* **Enterprise-grade access** — Works with business Microsoft 365 accounts and respects your organization's permissions.

    Work through these in order:

    1. Confirm the Teams connection shows **Connected** (not pending) on the [Connections page](https://app.duvo.ai/integrations).
    2. Confirm your personal account is linked (Step 3 above).
    3. Open Teams and check that **Duvo** is in your chat list. If it is not, add the app for yourself (Step 4) — this is the most common cause, and it is easy to miss because everything else already reads as connected.
    4. Make sure the Duvo chat is not muted in Teams.
